“Only the very weak-minded refuse to be influenced by literature and poetry.”
― Cassandra Clare, Clockwork Angel
The first time I actually wrote a poem was when my brother left the Island. I still remember, coming home from the airport, weeping and falling in my bed, missing him. I took a pen, a notebook and scribbled a little piece of poetry. Full of errors, now when I read it but, that was when I started to write. I wrote because writing kept me engaged. I wrote, to ensure myself that I am not alone. I wrote whenever I felt like talking to somebody but I had no one to hear me out.
As I grew up and developed crushes, I wrote love poems. It’s silly when I read them now but writing love poems brought a whole new facet in me and I started enjoying it.
I have always been deeply in love with reading and so soon I realized that I have equally fallen in love with writing too. I mean, isn’t it beautiful? To be able to describe the beauty of everything around you in the form of writings?
Oh, I also bond over coffee, food, aesthetics, anything well-written and cats. :3
